More vacation photos

More fun pictures from Beaches in Turks and Caicos
In the lobby they had a kids area with a TV and usually a bowl of chocolate chip cookies.  One day to get out of the sun, Sophie hung out watching TV and if you look closely, sipping her Strawberry Daiquiri.

Waiting for the Sesame Street parade.

No words needed.
We had some pictures taken out by the beach one night.  We have some great photos we'll post soon, but this is just a quick look at a couple really neat pictures.

This night we went to a Hibatchi restaurant.  All the food was made right in front of us, and the chefs were singing and making music with their knives and forks.  It was really cool.  3 of us ate.  1 went for chicken nuggets after dinner!

Check out this video.  No one caught it, but great movie.  If the video doesn't work, try http://youtu.be/SfIiVHq-_VM
He looks healthy, including the chocolate ice cream on the shirt collar!

We were back in the water.  Look who's coming down head first.  http://youtu.be/HPXD7sE2aHo

Kids at the Character Breakfast

This day was pretty funny.  Or not.  We had reservations for a character breakfast.  Sophie was so excited.  Noah was not.  In fact, he was pretty unhappy about it.  He was a little embarrassed, but to his credit, ended up being a good sport.  Even though he didn't have to, he smiled and posed.  Look at these pictures but keep reading at the end.

In the middle of breakfast, we looked up and Noah was scratching his face and arms and had big hives rapidly popping up all over him.  We knew there was peanut butter on the buffet right next to the butter and cream cheese, and we didn't think we got near it.  We didn't think any of the muffins or bread had nuts, but you can never be sure.  So Noah and David left breakfast quickly and quickly got to the resort infirmary.  We had an Epi-Pen with us just in case.  We needed some benadryl.

As we were sitting waiting for the nurse, and as David was trying to make Noah laugh, it became obvious what happened.  He didn't eat peanuts. He was allergic to the Sesame Street characters. Perhaps their costumes weren't the cleanest?  But he had hives only on exposed skin where he touched them.   So all of his moping about having to go to Character Breakfast turned out in the end to be, well, justified!  And for the rest of the week, whenever the characters were around, Noah would proudly say, I can't hug you...I'm allergic to you!!

Spring Vacation Vol 1 2014

Spring vacation was here and we were off to "Beaches" in Turks and Caicos.  The first step was getting through the airport.  Noah and Sophie checking in at the counter.

Though we initially had 4 seats together, David and Sophie got upgraded to first class.  Ah...the only way to fly.  Sophie had lots of room to wiggle around for 3 hours but both kids were great on the plane.

We finally made it to our room--complete with bunk beds!  Noah slept up top and Sophie on the bottom.
There were so many fun things to do.  But one of Noah's favorite's was the "Xbox Garage", with about 100 video game stations for kids.  This was a frequent stop especially after dinner or on a cloudy day.

Yes, that is Noah and Sophie at the bar!  This was one of their favorite activities.  And yes, they are sharing a Strawberry Daiquiri!   They both drank several each day.  Learning how to get attention at the bar is a skill that will likely come in handy in the future!

One of the fun things at Beaches is the Sesame Street characters and shows every night...especially for Sophie.  Here she is one morning by herself practicing.

On most mornings David and Sophie were up before mom and Noah.  We would go for a walk to the French bakery and get orange juice, coffee and chocolate croissants.  One day we made chocolate crepes!  It was fine to have our little picnic in pajamas.

Breakfast near the beach one morning.

We were just hanging around the pool, when who should appear?  The Count!

Sophie being brave and coming down the water slide on her belly

There was a great Kid's Club that Sophie loved.  Here she was doing story time and singing with Abby Cadabby.
Showtime one night.  Zoe was dancing and singing.
And Sophie LOVED the shows.
Noah, not so much!

Back up at the bar (Noah in the orange shirt)

Did you know they had Crocodiles in Turks and Caicos.

More Strawberry Daiquiris
