Last day in Spain

This was our last day in Spain and we went to Tibidabo.  This is an amusement park at the top of the mountain overlooking Barcelona.  It was pretty cool.  You had to take a bus to a Funicular to get to the park.  Check out the views.

He is Sophie with Bi.  This is also Ti, Da, and Bo.

That's what happens when you don't listen to your mom and dad.

Didn't you learn from your brother??

What's a day at the amusement park without ice cream?

Coming

Going
That night we went to see the lighted fountains, then back to  have dinner near our hotel.

Our favorite little italian restaurant across from the hotel.  At the start of dinner

At the end of dinner, after a long day and long week in Spain.  What a great trip.  And Noah and Sophie were really good.  We were pretty proud of them.

One last breakfast before heading to the airport.  Noah had his usual; chocolate crepes.

And Sophie had her usual; a plate full of fruit, yogurt, churros, pastries, toast and cereal.  and didn't eat anything!

Bye Barcelona, and bye Mediterranean Sea

At the airport, lots of souvenirs, and ready to go home.

Except the airport was pretty hot, and the plane a little late!

Next stop.....

Home......It was a great trip.  But nice to be getting back.
Soon we'll be in our own beds!

Madrid D1

We were on our way to Madrid for 2 days!
The kids couldn't wait to board the bullet train (high speed rail) from Barcelona to Madrid.  It was about a 3 hr ride.

With a feast for a king!

We're there.
We went to lots of places we couldn't take photos.  Like the Prado museum.  But everyone, including Noah and Sophie, were fascinated by the renaissance art.  And there was a great Picasso exhibit.  Noah was close to leaving against a priceless Picasso before David grabbed him.

While it might look like they are saying Grace before dinner, they are actually each playing video games on a phone!  Great little Italian restaurant just around the corner from our Hotel in Madrid

Breakfast in PJs in the lounge of our hotel, the Intercontinental.

It was a long day!

The next day we went to explore Mardrid.  We got on a hop on/hop off bus.

We sthen tarted at an old Egyptian temple.  But first a snack.

More karate in the middle of Madrid

Check out the little model--and the photo bomber!

This is the Palace in Madrid.  The King and Queen don't live here anymore, but it was spectacular.  We couldn't take pictures in most places.  But in this one, let's play "Where's Waldo?"   can you find Noah and Sophie?

Here's Sophie doing karate; and Noah photo bombing again!

The entry to the Palace.  Notice Noah posing just like the statue.

This was one of our favorite places.  The Chocolaterria!!  Fresh made Churros and donuts.  That's not coffee in front of the kids--those are cups of warm chocolate to did the churros in.

Back at the Hotel Intercontinental in the lounge.  We decided to have a quiet night and each snacks, drink wine, and get a good night's sleep!
The next day we went on a tour of the bull ring!  No bull fights  while we were there, but walking around  was pretty cool

Ole!

Out in front of the bull ring.

Waiting for the return train to Barcelona.

We had to take a first class cabin back (they were the only seats).  Nice train, huh?  That's not Noah's wine...

Holy cow!  300 kmg/hr!

We were going to go out Flaminco Dancing.  What a pretty little Seniorita!

We

Back in Barcelona at the Hotel Arts.  It was like coming home....
This one one of our favorite dinners, and a wonderful little restaurant  in a square off the  La Rambla.  Drinks for everyone.

We explored the back streets a little.

Then a stop up the street for ice cream.  Of course.

No words needed.  what a fun day!

Sleep well kids.  Home tomorrow.
