NY in NY (New Year's in New York)

The kids had off the week between Christmas and New Year's and we went to NYC for a fun overnight.   Checking in at the Times Square Marriott Marquis.

The view from our window.......

A trip to the Nintendo store at Rockefeller Center.  Soooo many choices....

Playing at the Nintendo store while dad waited in line...Noah is at the play table, and ALL THOSE PEOPLE you see in the back ground are standing in a line to check out!

Rockefeller Center

The M&M store.  The perfect spot for a candy fanatic!  Have you ever seen a $44 bag of M&Ms?

Back in the hotel

The highlight of the trip was going to see Aladdin on Broadway.  We all loved it, but it was late (8p show)

First it was dinner at Sardi's

Hey, look who we found at Sardi's?

No, really.  It's Max!

Intermission at Aladdin

Sophie was a trooper.  The show started at 8.  She made it through the first half of the second act but around 9:30 just fell SOUND asleep.  David carried her back to the hotel, but had to put her down to go get a bottle of water for everyone.

Next morning we went to the Toys R Us store in Times Square with the indoor ferris wheel.  If you look hard you can see Kathy and Sophie (in the Red car)

Meanwhile, Noah was morphing into a superhero upstairs at Toys R Us.

Great visit to NYC.  Now on to Connecticut to celebrate Hannukah.

Hannukah in Avon

Went went to Connecticut to celebrate Hannukah.  Oh my...there were so many presents!

The best part was spending time with cousins and aunts and uncles and nanny and poppy.

Happy Birthday from Nanny and Poppy to Sophie

Thanks Poppy.

An annual tradition!  The new Hess truck.

Max and the girls

Great dinner!

What ya thinking' about??

Back in Avon, everyone is waking up

A mean game of tic tac toe

Noah and Sophie's Christmas 2014

Merry Christmas, 2014!   It seems we didn't take lots of pictures this year, but don't be fooled that it wasn't busy, fun, and really exciting!  We went to the Mall and Sophie got to see Frosty, and tell Santa everything she wanted for Christmas.

On Christmas eve, the girls hung all the stockings.  We hope Santa comes.
Noah and Sophie each left Santa a note, some milk, cookies, and carrots for the Reindeer.  You won't believe.  In the morning, the stockings were full, the cookies and milk were gone, the notes clearly had been read by someone with wet hands (maybe from the snow??), and there were chewed up carrots on our driveway!  And there loads of Christmas presents too!  Check out our morning!

And you couldn't have Christmas morning without donuts!
Then Grampy and Kay came over...and it was Christmas all over again!
 Everyone's reading a book

Not the perfect way to end the night.  Noah's arm all the sudden starting hurting him really bad.  His wrist looked swollen, and given our experience with Sophie a couple months ago, we ended up int he Emergency Room.  X-rays were fine, the pain went away and we all went home for a nice dinner.   In the end, everything turned out fine.  Maybe it was the perfect way to end the night.

and so for now.....to all a good night.
