DC in the Fall

Noah had a 4 day break for Columbus Day and we went to Washington DC.  The drive down on Friday was slow so we stopped in Baltimore for dinner.  Trips are getting easier (not really!) now that Noah helps so much with his sister.

Meals are the biggest challenge.  No kids like to eat very much, this little kid will absolutely NOT eat sitting down,  and there is lots prodding, negotiating, and sometimes yelling!

Who me?  Who could ever yell at me??

But we made it to DC!  There are statues everywhere.  This is outside of the Treasury Department.

Everyone loves the revolving door.  And Sophie wouldn't take off her Cowboy boots (check them out.  Pick cowboy boots with white stars.  She calls them "Cow Boots".

Saturday was beautiful and sunny.  We walked around a little on our way to the Natural History museum.

Sophie and the Washington Monument

The Natural History Museum was cool.  Check out these animals...

Noah is very much into rocks and minerals, and couldn't wait to see this:  THE HOPE DIAMOND! (it was a little disappointing).

Check out these monkeys.

Believe it or not, Noah was watching a tarantula eat a grasshopper!

Either bad parenting or bad eating--for lunch, Sophie ate Cheese Doodles dipped in ketchup!

Do you recognize this neanderthal?  Look closely!

Look again!!

At night, we met Max and Arielle for dinner.  That was fun.

A little of everything.

Look at this happy family! (Hey, wait a minute....!!)

OK...this happy family too!
The second rainy chilly morning we made our way over to the Lincoln Memorial.  This is like "Where's Waldo", only "Where's Noah".  Lower right, grey sweatshirt.
Neither Noah nor Sophie really understood who Abraham Lincoln was or what he did, but no matter what, this is pretty awesome.

Fore score, and seven years ago......

This is fitting; this is the war memorial to Nurses.  Pretty neat.
We had a great time in DC.  We think both Noah and Sophie really had a good time.   More fun adventures coming up!
