Side trip to Cape May at the end of summer

We took a day trip to Cape May during our week down the shore.  Look at the strange people they have in the stores there!

We found a cool "Five and Dime" store, complete with an old fashioned pinball machine.  The kids thought it was great!

Grampy and Kay came over on the Ferry from Delaware and met us there.

We climbed the light house (a little scary for David).  This one was fearless.  Check out the views!

Then we went to Sunset beach looking for Cape May diamonds.  Really cool, and we found a bunch.

Back in Ocean City, the Miller's came to visit for the day.

One last ice cream on the board walk, then time to get in the car and go home.  Another great summer vacation in Ocean City.  Both kids have grown so much since our first summers here.  There were both just wonderful all week.  We all had such a great time, it was hard to see summer coming to an end.  But so much more to do this fall.  Kindergarten for Sophie, Noah going to 5th grade.  Just can't wait to see what will be!

A week down the shore at the end of summer

It seems so so long ago!  But we actually got to spend a week at the shore.   View from the front of the house we rented.  Complete with a Sophie!

 We've rented a surrey on most years we go to the shore.  This year it was crazy difficult peddling it.  We couldn't figure it out at first, but then realized we are now peddling a solid 140 extra pounds of kids!!

What a great week.  We're already looking forward to next summer!

Catching up. 10th birthday and more

So much has happened, and life gets so busy, we haven't been good about keeping up our blog.    We left off this past summer and by now summer has come and gone.  Both kids have already needed a new size sneaker since summer, Noah is almost taller than Kathy, and Sophie seems to be getting close to being a teen ager!

Dairy Queen remained a summer favorite.  Noah and his best buddy Charlie on jus one of our warm summer nights.

 In mid August we had a chance to go to Avon to visit and celebrate Noah's birthday.   The girls were making Shrinky Dinks.
