Fall Frenzy

Some more fall fun.  Hanging out on the Hammock on a nice warm fall afternoon
Noah went to the dentist!  Wearing mom's glasses to keep the bright light out of his eyes!
On our way to Yom Kippur services.
We all went to the National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match Walk/Run fundraiser.  David is on the Board of Directors, so it was important we all go.  It was down at the Navy Yard.  Look how little Noah looks next to this enormous ship.
Getting ready for the run
David and Noah ran the 1K race and did pretty good.  Sophie did the Tot-trot.  See her?  Just right of center.   Black pants.  She got a medal for this.
Later that day we went to the Tyler Arboretum.  Check out some of the fun.

Hmmmm.  Thinking how to solve the problems of the world....

We've been away. But we're back

Well, these posts are a little late, but better late than never.  Here some updates from the lives of Noah and Sophie, fall 2014.

Going to Linvilla has been a tradition.  Here is Noah on the Apple Slingshot.  You buy a bucket of rotten apples, and sling shot them at targets out in the field.
While Miss Sophie was out in the playground.
Ice cream
And pumpkins.  Notice Sophie got her face painted like the little pumpkin that she is!
Kathy was out this day, so David, Soph and Noah went apple picking.  This is how you get the best apples at the top of the tree!

Then it was Rosh Hashanah.  We had the Miller's over for a wonderful holiday dinner.  Kathy made the best dinner, the table was gorgeous and it was a fun night.  Here's Sophie with Gabrielle.
On our way to services.  Need we say any more.
Meanwhile, Noah has been practicing hard at Karate.  He was to test for his Brown Belt.

Check it out.  Noah, Brown Belt with Master Schectel.

Soccer Anyone?

This year, both kids are playing soccer.  Sophie is on Team Australia.  She LOOKS GREAT!  She still learning the game, and gets occasionally upset because "the other kids aren't letting me score a goal".  But she is having a ball.

Meanwhile, Noah's team FC Dalla, is great and undefeated.  Some have said that's because the coaching has been phenomenal.  But the kids have a lot to do with it as well :).   Noah has found his stride in soccer.  He's been playing great, and typically scoring 1 or 2 goals each game.  One game, he had a hat trick!
Back at the 4 year old field, little Sophie finally broke through and scored her first goal.  She was so excited!

Noah, after finishing off a goal.
More Fall fun to come.

First day of school 2014

Believe it or not, this is the first day of 3rd grade!  Noah, you are getting so big.  We're all really proud of you.  Look at proud Sophie looks!

Lloyd is back driving the bus.  Good morning Lloyd.

And of course Sophie goes out to see Lloyd every morning as well

And how about this little lady??  Sophie is going to her first day at big girl pre-school.  She is in the bigger kid class with Ms Kelly.  Have a great time Sophie.  We're all really proud of you too!

Have a great day!

There was a play day at Noah's school, and we all went. And played!  Even Sophie....

Both kids are loving school this year.  Noah is thriving in 3rd grade.  They are studying medieval England and reading Robin Hood.  Sophie is loving her full day school.  She is learning all her letters, can count to 300 by 10s, and multiply 3 x 6.  We can't wait to see how they both keep growing and learning....
