Snow, skating, and more

Wow, what a winter.  We have had a major storm almost every week.  That meant lots of days off school, and lots of playing outside.

Superbowl Sunday was fun.  We had our annual picnic in our family room, all got dressed for football, and watched the game and lots of fun food.

More snow, and back outdoors.

Noah rolled this snowball himself.  Then he couldn't push it anymore!

Sophie made Frosty.  Carrot nose, laterns on his arms.  He was great!

Anyone remember "Mr Bubbles"?  Who is this person in our bathtub with a beard??

One snowy day off school, Noah came to work with David.  He went right to work!

Last week, we went to the Marple Sports Arena and Noah and Sophie went rollerblading.  Check out this great form!

After an hours of skating, there were 2 tired kids!!

When roller skating was done, they played in "Marple Mountain".  It was a fun, tiring, day with a few sore backsides!  But everyone went home happy!

Happy Birthday Mom!

February is always a fun month.  It's cold outside and we thought we'd make chocolate pudding.  We had 2 good helpers.

Lunch with one of Noah's best friends, Charlie.

Meanwhile, back at home we were getting ready for mom's birthday.   Sophie and Noah each had their own ideas for presents.  Sophie was making a bouquet of lollipops.  She started by painting the vase.

Noah made origami puppets of our family.  Then we framed them.  Mom love these too and we're going to hang this in the house.

For mom's birthday dinner the kids (and Kathy!) made cupcakes, with all sorts of decorations.  

For mom's birthday dinner we had chinese food!  Everyone ate with chopsticks.  Sophie is eating her blueberries with chopsticks.

And Noah is eating Chicken Nuggests and apples with his chopsticks.

Swimming, Karate, and fun in the winter!

I guess being inside all day makes you a little stir crazy!!

As Sophie is growing up, she and Noah are playing together more and more.  She tried to annoy him, he gets frustrated with her, she keeps it up, he gets angry, someone gets yelled at, then they play together!

Sophie is taking swimming lessons this winter getting ready for the pool this summer!

Noah is taking swimming lessons too this winter.  He is swimming so well.  Check out this little video.

Noah is also doing great at Karate.  He just tested for his "Advanced Green Belt" and did great!  His form is good and crisp, and he had to write an essay as well.  It was a fantastic essay about "self control".   I wish we had a copy, but it was thoughtful, insightful, and believe it or not, neat!!
