Growing fast

This blog is such a great record of how fast these kids are growing.  They are now playing together more and more.  Sophie thinks her brother is so funny!  Check out this little video.

Sophie is indeed a little girl.  She already loves jewelry.  In fact she likes wearing necklaces more than clothes!

Say "Blah1'

Meanwhile, Noah has decided he wants to learn how to use chop sticks.
Here he is eating breakfast (Cap'n Crunch in fact) with chop sticks.   Yes...Cap'n Crunch..

Meanwhile, little Sophie is hanging out eating a cooking.  Literally, "hanging out".  Great little chair.

We came home from celebrating Nanny's birthday in Danbury with cupcakes that auntie Marci sent with us.  What a treat.

Last weekend we went to check out Camp Arrowhead.  Noah is going to go to this camp this summer.    Right out front of the camp office is a real old fashioned indian.  But you can see this one probably came from a cigar store, since he's holding a bunch of cigars.  Not sure Noah noticed!

It was warm and sunny on our way to the camp.  Warm enough so that we could have our first ride with the top down.  Both kids loved it.

And then later that day we just hung out in the "NEST" (our tree house)

And took a drive around the yard.  Sophie loves having Noah drive her around.

Sophie went to the zoo last week too. She loved it and was so excited to see all the animals.  She wanted so much to get in the pens.

Come back soon. Next stop was a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas.

The King and Queen of Purim

We were getting ready for Purim, and today was the day of the carnival.  We have new stools in our kitchen, so breakfast was at the island to day.

Sophie is dressed like Queen Esther.  We think she looks like a Princess!

Grandma Porter (Sarah) used always had her "King David".  Well, there's a new king in this house.

Sophie wasn't so sure she liked the carnival at the beginning, but then had a ball.

And Noah played all the games like Esther's ring toss.

He won a lot of tickets that he traded in for a few great prizes.

You both look wonderful!

She should be on a magazine cover (Erin put that on her hair!).  Sophie loves wearing a necklace too.

"Seriously"

But Sophie is now  just a dress up doll.  She is ready for tumble class.  You should see her do summersaults.

Nanny and Poppy came to visit

Sophie has a new chair in her room that she loves.   She was patiently waiting company.  And she doesn't do much "patiently"

Hi Poppy!

Hi Nanny.  Wait for dinner.  Don't eat me!
Sophie loves reading books.  Read it again Poppy.

And Sophie love donuts.  A hearty breakfast.

Bom Bom.....

And this little piggy....
What a nice picture.
We had a great visit.  We hope Nanny and Poppy come back soon.

Max Came to Visit, Feb 2012

A couple of weeks ago (we're behind on the blog) Max came to visit for the weekend and we had a ball.  Sophie is a little dancer, and was so happy to have someone to dance with!

We went to swimming lessons for Sophie and Noah (see our next blog).  Sophie was pretty lucky to have someone waiting for her with a nice warm towel!

And she had a good time reading books to Max.

Night night cousin Max.  I love you.
And then Max was teaching her how to use the IPad.

Noah was so excited he could teach Max how to play Skylanders.

On Sunday, we went to Family Fun Day at Friend's Central Upper School.  There were lots of games, and Noah even went swimming.  This was a little "one on one dodge ball"!

Thanks for coming to play Max!

What's new?

Sophie is starting to love dressing up like a real little girl.  She likes scarves, necklaces and bracelets.

And check her out motoring around the yard!  15 more years til her license.
Noah went to a birthday party at the Franklin Institute and we go to see the dinosaurs.  Look how little he is compared to this T-Rex!  He's like a toothpick!

We had Dennis, Diane and Julie over for dinner last week.  Sophie got to spend time with her cousin Julie.

One of the best things we did in a long time was at the Temple.  An organization came in that feeds hungry people all over the world.  They brought huge bags of food.  The Sunday School classes and their families (including Sophie!) were split into table, and packaged individual meals (to be boiled in the plastic pouch).  Noah's session packaged almost 7000 meals to send overseas!  Everyone of course had to wear a hair net.  What a great idea.

Noah and Kathy at their table packaging meals.

"I wish that I had duck lips"

Noah went for his Karate pictures last week.  We will have some better pictures for all you karate fans but David snuck a couple poses on his phone.

More fun to come.
