Ho Ho Ho 2012

Ho Ho Ho!!  Guess who's coming to town???  It's Christmas Eve, and we're getting ready for our visitors.  Noah and Sophie left out milk, a cupcake, 9 carrots (8 plus one, in case Rudolph was coming this year), and a nice note for Santa.

And boy, was Christmas morning fun.  Noah was great waiting until Sophie woke up, and we all went downstairs together.  Sophie got to her stocking before anyone else.

Look at Sophie playing with the toy that was in David's stocking.

The 10th Reindeer!

Sophie got a packet of chapstick ("lip stick") that she used for days!

And you should have seen all the presents Santa (and everyone else!) left!  Merry Christmas to everyone!

A little break for our little candy cane, then back to opening presents.
Great, fun, warm!

Don't know if you can see well Sophie's new dress up shoes that came with her dress up clothes!
Merry Christmas Grampy!

The Abominable Noah!
Great Christmas gifts for the boys.  How come David got the pig and Noah got the Angry Bird though????

This is awful!  Kathy was trying to clean up a spill and Noah thought he'd just hop on for a ride
The rest of the Christmas week was super fun as well.  Here are the happy girls....

Is there (another) doctor in the house??

On Thursday, Kathy and David took the day off and took Noah and Sophie into Philadelphia for the day.  We all took the train.  This was Sophie's first train ride.  Noah is an old pro.

First stop was at "Suburban Station".  We got donuts  and had a snack before the day's adventure began
Next stop was at the Comcast Center.  For those who have never been here it is hard to explain.  See the wall behind us?  It's actually a giant screen.  Every hour was a 3D "video Christmas show".  It was pretty incredible and the kids were mesmerized (as were we all)

And we met Kyra and Molly there.  Double fun.

Check it out.

Wow!

Then outside to Macy's; this is the old "Wannamaker" building, for the annual light show (inside) and visit to Dicken's village.  Everyone hold hands...

Inside Macy's waiting for the show

Pretty awesome as well.
Then Macy's has this cool set up of "Dicken's Village".  You walk through the story of Ebenezer Scrooge.  Almost Sophie size.

And certainly Noah sized!
It was a long but fun day.  Back to the train for a quiet ride home.

Once back home it was time for some family quiet time.  Sort of.  Kathy was folding the laundry and Sophie just walked up behind her with the foam sword of Noah's, bopped her on the head and said "Mommy, I want to battle you!"

Bop!
Merry Christmas everyone, even if a little late.  Hope the holidays and New Year brings everyone health, happiness, peace, and only good things.....

Love, us.

Happy Birthday Sophie

December 23rd, 2012.  It's hard to believe but Sophie Madelyn Porter turned 2 years old today.
We all rushed to go see Sophie when she woke up to be the first to say Happy Birthday.  Noah beat everyone to it.
Happy Birthday little sister!

Her first birthday present was from Noah.  He bought her an Elmo puppet.  She kept telling us she wanted Elmo for her birthday.

Her second present was a roller coaster!  Whee!!

Thanks mom!

That afternoon was party time.  Welcome to Sophie's World!

Pin the nose on Elmo.

Lower Noah, lower!

Sophie with her best girlfriends, Kyra and Molly
Time for cake

Looks like fun, doesn't it??

Getting ready to blow out the candles.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you.....

Playing her new guitar in her new rock star dress up clothes.
What a great time.  This little 2 year old is growing so fast. There is no slowing it down.   She is fun, funny, stubborn, sweet, and full of life.  What a wonderful day for a wonderful little girl.  Happy birthday Sophie.

More Holiday Fun

We went to the Radnor Valley Holiday party and had a ball.  Sophie got a balloon bunny rabbit.  Noah got a double barrel balloon shooter (we don't have a picture for some reason?).

There was a great dance party at Radnor Valley.  Check them out.

Sophie had her face painted like a butterfly

And here are our star dancers in the next 2 videos.  We hope they come out.

The next weekend we went to Danbury to celebrate Chanukah.  Not enough pictures, but fun ones!

Hop on Pop

Who's there??

"Get me down from here!"
No, no...this is how you do it.

The girls

Sam, Ben, Noah, Kathy playing Sam's new game "Fibber"

Out to breakfast Sunday morning....

We had a great time.   There was still more holiday fun to have once we got home.  Stay tuned!

Chanukah and the Holidays

The holidays came quick this year.

First, it was time for some shopping.  Each kid has a good picture in front on a pretty holiday scene!

Of course what is a holiday without chocolate cookies and cake?!
We lit the candles each night.

And Sophie would help with her menorah.  See how she is holding mom's hand?

And there were some great presents every night!

And other packages!

Happy holidays

But at the end of busy day, this little "HAPPY" girl just needed some time to chill out and play Noah's Ipod.

With some help of course

And talk about presents!  Erin had her baby and brought baby Carter to visit.  Noah (and Sophie) are so good with him!

Off to the Diner for dinner.  And dessert of course.

Sophie was a Chanukah candle for her school play.  Doesn't she look adorable???
More holiday pictures coming soon!
