A star is born

David was driving home from work one Saturday morning, and heard an add on the radio: "If your child always wanted to be on TV, call this number and if you're one of the first callers, they will be invited to audition".  So David called quickly, and Noah was invited to "audition" for something called "THE EVENT".  We didn't really know what it was about, but on the following Saturday night, we all went into to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Philadelphia for an audition.

See how good he is?  Here Noah is acting crazy!

We were brought into a large ballroom and sat for 1 1 /2 hours.  The audition included meeting with a Talent Scout for "The Event" and being filmed for a couple of minutes reading a few lines.  Noah was fantastic.  He charmed the rather stern and somewhat mean talent scout ("Miss Chen") and was so good reading his lines on the screen.  The kids were being filmed behind a curtain but this was projected on a giant screen at the front of the room.  I filmed a short clip below before getting yelled at...you weren't allowed to film.
Definitely a star is born.  It turns out "The Event" is essentially a talent show in Orlando (having nothing to do with Disney).  You could pay to take your child, and at the talent show would be many talent scounts.  But first you had to get a "call back" to see if you were one of the 5 or 6 kids in your age group selected to go to The Event.  Indeed Noah got a call back.  Unfortunately, we are not able to travel to Orlando for this show.  Maybe next time.  Noah so much wants to be on TV; maybe this was his big start!

Back at home everyone is practicing making silly faces.

Kathy's colleague and friend Matt came over for a cook out on Memorial day with their kids Kyle and Ryan, and everyone had a ball.  Our Jeep easily turned into a 3 seater.  Check out the little Princess in the front!

And putting on a show.
Happy Memorial Day!

Finally it was time to plant our pumpkins.  You'll notice we put up a fence this year to keep the deer out.  Sophie was a big helping.

We went to the pool on Memorial day in the afternoon.  Sophie likes to walk around and check everyone out!
It was a long day.  Ready for bed everyone!

Thanks for reading to everyone Noah.
More to come!
